Good evening Club Presidents & Delegates,

Please ensure the below information is distributed to your members.

As per the Basketball Victoria ‘Return to Sport Update’, we will be returning this Saturday at the Orange-50 Reactivation level, which means a maximum of 50 people per court area/game and a maximum number of 300 people per space. (Click here to download the latest Return to Sport Guidelines)

We are so happy to be back playing basketball and ask your help to ensure the weekend runs smoothly.

To assist the DVBA in being Covid-safe this weekend we require each team to have a designated covid-marshal (coach, team manager or a spectator) to ensure that their team is following the covid protocols.

For all Junior domestic games this weekend, the following applies:

- All games will be reduced to 18 minute halves to ensure we have enough time between games; - Spectators will be strictly limited to one per player. All spectators including players must sign in using the QR code at each venue they attend; - Each team is allowed to have a coach and team manager to attend the game also (these do not count towards the one per player spectator number); - Everyone over 12 years of age must wear a mask unless medically exempt. If they cannot wear a mask they must maintain 1.5m from all others in the venue at all times. Players, coaches and referees are exempt when on court participating in an exertive role but must wear a mask at other times, including entry and exit of the stadium; - Teams will only be able to enter the stadium once the previous teams have exited. Please arrive at the stadium no more than 10 minutes before games / training. If a player is running late it is the responsibility of the designated covid-marshal of the team to assist them in entering the venue; - Teams must exit the stadium, immediately after their game, through the exit indicated by referees or staff, so that the next teams can enter and start warming up. As always, please ensure everyone (this does include players) continue to check in via QR code, sanitise upon entry and if you are feeling unwell, stay at home and get tested.
